Religious Education Currently the church has 25 children in the Sunday School Program, and it runs from the first Sunday after Labor Day until the end of May. Sunday School classes run from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Adult religious Education classes are held on Wednesday evenings, at 7:30pm, from September to May. Everyone is welcome. Philoptochos - Myrofores Society The Myrofores Society was formed by the late Rev. Aristedes Palayenes on May 19, 1929. All the women of our Church are eligible. The members of this Society have been very active in our Church and have performed great ministry to the community at large. Greek Language School In 1922, the Hellenic School of our Community was formed with the purpose of teaching Greek to the children of Hellenic descent. Currently, the school has twenty students, ages 4 to adults and meets every Wednesday at 4:30pm. Greek Dancing lessons are given twice a month by George Baryo. Youth Ministry The most popular event for our youth has been from many years the Basketball Tournament which encompasses the Western part of our Diocese. However, GOYA (12-18) meets regularly with the youth advisor, Mr. Roger Schultz, and the younger age groups (HOPE & JOY) participate in family oriented activities. Koinonia Koinoia is the Monthly Newsletter published by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. It contains information on the Orthodox Faith as well as worship schedules, articles, pictures and announcements of church events. If you are interested in receiving a copy, please contact the church. Choir Through the effort of the late Rev. Aristedes Palayenes, the Choir of our Community was organized in September, 1929. Since its organization, it has functioned continuously and has rendered most valuable services to our worship life. We recommend to all the parishioners to join. AHEPA On July 26, 1928, Sioux City Chapter 191, Order of AHEPA, was organized and thrived under the leadership of Judge George M. Paradise. Along with the Daughters of Penelope, the AHEPA has been instrumental in supporting all aspects of parish and community life. Festival In the summer of 2001, the Holy Trinity Church held its first Annual Festival on the church grounds. Until this time, the community served two grecian dinners to the Sioux City community which raised many funds for the support of the church.
